Mountain Biking - Tauern Cycle Path

You can tackle the Tauern Cycle Path as a cycle tour from Krimml im Pinzgau to Passau, or you can opt for the Tauern Cycle Path circuit. The popular Tauern Cycle Tour has the Bavarian town of Passau as its destination and leads the last few kilometres along the Inn through Upper Austria.

You also start the Tauern Cycle Path tour in Krimml, ride downstream of the Salzach to the city of Salzburg and head along the banks of the Saalach back to the Pinzgau to Zell am See. From there you can take the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn to your starting point at the Krimml Waterfalls. Of course, you are free to start the Tauern Cycle Path or the Tauern Cycle Path Tour at any location. Zell am See and the city of Salzburg are particularly popular starting points. At 270 kilometres, the Tauern Cycle Path is almost 30 kilometres shorter than the Tauern Cycle Path between Krimml and Passau.

All sections of the route are easy to master.
